Rated tournaments around Kuala Lumpur 18

A rated game around Kuala Lumpur counts for the FIDE rating, for the national rating kept by the Malaysian Chess Federation, or for both, and the event listing says which. The classical end of the scale sits at KL Chess Academy in Desa Sri Hartamas, where the KL Classics are played over three days, and at Busana in Menara MARA, home of the CMC 1800 classical for players rated below that mark. The federation runs the Malaysian Masters and the Russian House open, and the Grand Asian Chess Challenge brings a classical open to Universiti Malaya.

Rapid events are rated too. The APEX Chess mall tour, the Catur Bulan Kemerdekaan and Kejohanan Cerdik Catur series, the Summit USJ and DPulze Cyberjaya events, the Centro Mall open in Klang and the numbered AEON BIG Subang Jaya events, two editions of which were marked MCF-rated, all belong here. Each card names the organiser who takes the entries.
